ALPINE AERO SQUADRON JANUARY 2002 NEWSLETTER

These are the minutes for January 17, 2002 meeting.

Our President Dorman Baker brought the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the minutes of the December meeting as read at the January meeting.

Fifteen club members were present at the December meeting.

Bob Middleton reported that we have $3,388.69 in the bank as of January 17, 2002.

A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the treasurer’s report as presented.

Old Business:

Dues: **Dues shall be $40.00 per year for each Member. Yearly dues become due on the 1st of January of each year and will be good through December 31st of that year. Membership renewal will start on October 1 and continue through December. A grace period of 60 days from January 1 may be granted by the members of the Board for special circumstances. These members who have not paid their dues by March 1 of that year will be dropped from the club membership and will be considered as non-members. If at a future date, that person should wish to rejoin, they will fall into the new membership category and will be subject to all fees. Exceptions to this can only be approved by a vote by the Members of the Board with a minimum of three (3) out of five (5) Members consenting, Bob Middleton would like to have all the members paid up by December 31st 2001 so that the updated roster and all other club information can be sent to the AMA by March 31st 2002.

New Business:

Web Page: The club has a Web Page now; the address is http://www.alpineaerosquadron.com To contact Ignacio Barragan about the new Website, on the Internet, mail to webmaster@alpineaerosquadron.com. Soon the newsletter will be on the Web Page and everyone’s name and other information will be included. Everyone will be able to access our Web Page, but a special password will be needed to look at the club’s roster.

The meetings will be held on the second Thursday of each month from now on.

A raffle is held at each meeting and the raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00.

The following members won items at the raffle.

John Reynolds - Gallon of Fuel and a 3” X 4” Square.
Tom Clark - 5 Minute Epoxy, # 13 Saw Blade and a RC Long Glow Plug.
Joe Macias - Ca Glue # 1, Ca Glue # 2 and a 12 Volt Ni Cad Battery Charger.
Roger Huckins - Heat Gun & 3” Triangle.
Ignacio Barragan - CA Glue # 3, Pin Vice and 6 assorted Drills.
Rick Alba - 2 RC Long Glow Plugs and a Trim Seal Tool.
Bob Middleton - Standard Allen Wrench Set and a Metric Allen Wrench Set.
Al Sherwood - 5 Minute Epoxy Glue.

Hobby People donated the following items: Heat Gun, 5 Minute Epoxy Glue and three tubes of Ca Glue.

If you’re the last one to leave the field please lock the old Gate and close the new Gate behind you. No need to lock the new Gate. Some day in the future we will have to lock both Gates when we leave the field, but right now just lock the old Gate and close the new Gate if you are the last one to leave the field. Close the new Gate on weekends and after working hours.

The next meeting of the Alpine Aero Squadron will be at 7:30PM on February 14, 2002 (Thursday) at the Kennedy Center Main Building, 1675 Madison Avenue, El Cajon, Ca.

A motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting at 8:15PM.
