ALPINE AERO SQUADRON JANUARY 2004 NEWSLETTER

These are the minutes for January 8, 2004 meeting. Our President Tom Clark brought the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the minutes of the December meeting as read at the January meeting. Ten club members were present at the January meeting. The club now has 87 members.

Bob Middleton reported that we have 2173.56 in the bank as of January 8, 2004. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the treasurer’s report as presented.

Old Business
Club dues were due by December 31st, 2003. The dues for the year 2004 are $40.00 for the whole year.

New Business
A new lock has been installed on both gates. New keys will be issue to each member by Bob Middleton his phone number is 619-443-4791. The old locks on both gates will be removed at the end of this month.

Richard F. Ryan will not have to pay any dues for the year 2004, as he is the Field Marshall. He maintains the field and he also keeps the field clean.

The rent for a room at the Kennedy Recreation Center is now $90.00 a year,

Note: Thomas Beecroft brought in his two Pulse Jet Control Line Models, one is a Speed Model & the other one is a Stunt Model. The Pulse Jet on both Models fires 240 times a second or 14,400 times a minute. The Speed Model never flew, but the Stunt Model flew some 450 times. Both Models were built in 1951. They fly on 70-foot wires. The Stunt Model has a wingspan of 51/2 feet and the Speed Model has a wingspan of one foot.

A raffle is held at each meeting and the raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00. The following members won items at the raffle.

Glenn Wilcken - Allen Wrenches (Standard) & Allen Wrenches (Metric).

The next meeting of the Alpine Aero Squadron will be at 7:30 p.m February 12, 2004, (second Thursday) at the Kennedy Recreation Center, 1675 Madison Avenue, El Cajon, CA. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting at 7:52 pm.
