ALPINE AERO SQUADRON APRIL 2006 NEWSLETTER

These are the minutes for the April 13, 2006 meeting. Our President Tom Clark brought the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the minutes of the March meeting as read at the April meeting. Eleven club members were present at April meeting. The Club now has 71 members.

Mark Miller reported that we have $4516.14 in the bank as April 13, 2006. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented.

OLD BUSINESS:
Tom Clark will be making a Sign telling all Truck Drivers to keep off the Runway. Mark Miller has new Locks with Keys that cost the Club $164.76 & will give out the new keys at the Field or at the meetings. Each member will be required to turn his or her old key in to the Treasurer in order to received a new key. The old Locks will stay on both Gates for about two months. Please place your 2006 AMA card or your badge in the pin board when you remove the clothespin that corresponds to the channel # on your transmitter. Everyone will be required to have an updated AMA Card by January 1st, 2006, or your 2006 Club Badge will satisfy this requirement. Visitor can fly at the field for two days free.

New Business:
After the Gates have been opened make sure the Locks are in the Lock position. The Club has found our Locks in the weeds & some of our Locks have come up missing in the past.

Note: Joe Macias brought in 11 Engines. One single Inboard Engine Glow .049 & one Inboard inline twin Engine Glow .12. Six K & B, two infants .020 Engines, three .035 Engines & one .049 Engine The Heads on the two .020 engines hold the Glow Plugs in place. The three .035 and the .049 have Glow Plugs that Screw into the Heads. One Twin opposed Glow Plug Engine made by Henry Parohy from New York. One of a kind. Cooling fins on the Heads & the Crankcase. One Elf Corn Cob .138 Ignition Engine made between 1935 & 1939. One Perky .19 single Cylinder Ignition Engine.

Note: A raffle is held at each meeting and the raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00. The following members won items at the raffle.

The next meeting of the Alpine Aero Squadron will be at 7:30 p.m. May 11, 2006, (2nd Thursday) at the Kennedy Recreation Center, 1675 Madison Avenue, El Cajon, CA.

A motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting at 8:06 p.m. Check your controls prior to your first flight of the day.
