ALPINE AERO SQUADRON APRIL 2007 NEWSLETTER These are the minutes for the April 12, 2007 meeting. Our President Tom Clark brought the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the minutes of the March meeting as read at the April meeting. Nine Club members were present at the April meeting. The Club now has 75 members. Five new members join our Club from Chollas Model Airplane Club. Chollas Model Airplane Club will be closed till September of this year or later.
Mark Miller reported that we have $2632.32 in the bank as April 12, 2007. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the Treasurers report as presented.

Note: A raffle is held at each meeting and
the raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00.
Note: Tom Seevers brought in an Atkinson Engine in that he built from Blue Prints. The engine is a Four Stroke Engine, but the Fly Wheel only turns around once while the Piston moves in & out of the Cylinder two times for every time the Engine fires. The Piston has a long & a short stroke as the Engine moves thru its Four Cycle operation. The Engine fires only when the Piston is on the long stroke mode. The Engine has a Spark Plug & an Ignition System & runs on Glow Fuel. The Engine & its stand weigh about 60 pounds. A four Cycle Engine fires every other stroke and has at least two Valves, where by a two Cycle Engine fires on every stroke and has no valves.
Note: Joe Macias brought in 9 replica small Engines of larger Engines in a Plastic Case. A .07 Fox smaller ignition Engine version of the Fox .59. A .09 Fox smaller Ignition Engine version of the Fox .59. A .09 Hornet Engine made 60% smaller than the larger Hornet Engine. A .09 Yellow Jacket Engine made to look like a .29 Dooling Ignition Engine. A Mini-Cox .06 down size from a .09 Glow Engine. A .09 JR Dooling made between 1947 thru 1997 from a .29 Glow Engine. Baby Drone .037 Diesel Engine down to ½ the Size. The smallest Model Airplane Engine ever made is a .01Diesel; it turns a big 3 Propeller.
The next meeting of the Alpine Aero Squadron will be at 7:30 p.m. May 10, 2007, (2nd Thursday) at the Kennedy Recreation Center, 1675 Madison Avenue, El Cajon, CA. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 p.m. Check your Flight Controls prior to each flight. |
