ALPINE AERO SQUADRON APRIL 2009 NEWSLETTER

These are the minutes for the April 9, 2009 meeting. Our President Tom Clark brought the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. A motion was made, seconded, & approved to accept the minutes of the March meeting as read at the April meeting. Thirteen Club members were present at the April meeting. The Club now has 61 members.

Mark Miller reported that we have $2386.61 in the bank as April 9, 2009. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the Treasurer's report as presented.

Old Business:
The new locks are now on both gates, Number 2 key is the only Key that fits the new Locks. We lost a lock from the first Gate. Tom had buy a new Lock which cost the Club $38.00. Tom Clark took the Lock to a Locksmith who refitted the Lock to accept our Number 2 Key. We have new Carpets at the North end of the Field.


New Business:

A motion was made and seconded to change the by laws, removing the requirement for 4 board members to approve and sign each application. The change is as follows: Membership A. General Paragraph 2:
Before:
All new memberships must be approved by a Quorum of the Board of directors. Four (4) Board members must sign the application form. If 4 members of the Board are not available and the membership limit is not exceeded, the applicant may fly as a guest, subject to all club and AMA rules, until the application is reviewed by the board. Gate keys shall only be issued after the application is approved and dues and initiation fees are paid in full.
After:

A final vote to approve this change will occur at the May 14th club meeting.

Note: Tom Rickert brought in a small plastic Helicopter that he flew around the meeting hall. The Model cost him $100.00 & with the Radio it would cost $130.00. Tom Rickert had his own Helicopter Radio. The Helicopter can fly in all 6 directions.
Note: Wayne Bolin donated a Number 8 O S. Glow Plug.
Note: When anyone is flying at the Field, the inner Gate must be closed. The outer Gate should also be closed. The last person leaving the Field will lock both Gates. The speed limit going to & from the Field is 15-Miles Per Hour. No more Welding permitted at the Field. The County has informed the Club that when it rains, the Field will be closed for five days after the rain stops.

Note: A raffle is held at each meeting and the raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00. The winners are Howard Valentine - Number 8 O. S. Glow Plug.
