ALPINE AERO SQUADRON MAY 2004 NEWSLETTER

These are the minutes for May 13, 2004 meeting. Our President Tom Clark brought the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the minutes of the April meeting as read at the May meeting. Fifteen club members were present at the May meeting. The club now has 88 members.

Bob Middleton reported that we have $2822.91 in the bank as of May 13, 2004. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented.

Old Business:
Make sure you lock both gates when you are the last one to leave. If someone is there from the country make sure you still lock the gates. This may not pertain to weekdays, but on weekends this will apply.

New Business:
Tanner S. Curtis received a Certificate of Satisfactory R/C Solo Flight on April 24, 2004. The Annual Association Swap Meet will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Balboa Park Inspiration Point Parking Lot. The hours are from 7:00 am to 11:00 am. The club will have a table set up at the Park & if anyone has anything they would like to donate, the club will be glad to auction off the items at the park. Bring your items to the Meetings or to the Flying Field. San Diego Country Association of Model Clubs will have a Team Fun Fly, which will hosted by the Chula Vista R/C Club. Open to all Club Members & non Club Members. June 19th 2004 (Saturday). Call Don Madison at 619-296-1510 or E-Mail at dkmadison@cox.net. No entry fee.

Joe Macias brought 9 collectable Engines in a Plexiglas case that he made from spare parts of used Engines, 4 oppose two Cylinder Engines, 1 Flat 4 Cylinder Oppose Engine, 1 three Cylinder Radial Engine, 2 Five Cylinder Radial Engines & 1 V8 Engine. All the Engines are two cycle Engines with Glow Plugs. All the Engines fire at the same time, except for the v8, which fires every 45 degrees.

A raffle is held at each meeting and the raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00. The following members won items at the raffle.

Joe Macais - Precision Cutting Kit.
Greg Cullimore - Fuel Can Cap Fittings.
Tom Clark - Fuel Can Cap Fittings.
Regan Schutte - CA Glue Thick # 2 & CA Glue Thin # 1.

The next meeting of the Alpine Aero Squadron will be at 7:30 p.m June 10, 2004, (second Thursday) at the Kennedy Recreation Center, 1675 Madison Avenue, El Cajon, CA. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 pm. Check your controls prior to your first flight of the day.
