ALPINE AERO SQUADRON AUGUST 2002 NEWSLETTER

These are the minutes for August 8, 2002 meeting. Our Vice President Tom Clark brought the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the minutes of the July meeting as read at the August meeting. Nine club members were present at the August meeting. The club now has 75 members in the Alpine Aero Squadron Club.

Bob Middleton reported that we have $3,910.31 in the bank as of August 8, 2002. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the treasurer’s report as presented.

Old Business:

Fun Fly will be September 15, 2002 at the Alpine Aero Squadron field, so come and have some fun. There will be free hot dogs and soft drinks at the Fun Fly. The Fun Fly will start at 9:00 am Sunday moring. There will be a meeting before the Fun Fly. The items sold at the Balboa Swap Meet on July 20 of this year produced $211 dollars for the club.

New Business:

Float fly will be November 24, 2002 at Otay lakes.

Oiling or repairing of the runway was briefly discussed at the August Meeting. This subject will be discussed at the September meeting when more information is available.

The Bylaws will be changed to waive the Treasurer’s dues and this will be an ongoing change until a new Treasurer is voted into this position.

It was decided to give Bob Middleton some recognition for the outstanding job he has been doing for the club. Bob Middleton also volunteers for other duties that need to done.

Numerous people have hit their head on the bulletin board and it was decided to move the bulletin down to the other end of the awning by the storage shed.

Dues are 40 dollars a year and the last day to pay without a penalty is December 31, 2002.

A raffle is held at each meeting and the raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00. The following members won items at the raffle.

Bob Middleton - Miter Box Plastic & E/Z Threader.
Dorman Baker - 2 Tubes of Ca Glue #1 & #2 & a Control Surface Deflection Meter.
Joe R. Macias - Prop Step Reamer.

The next meeting of the Alpine Aero Squadron will be at 7:30 p.m September 12, 2002 (Second Thursday) at the Kennedy Center Main Building, 1675 Madison Avenue, El Cajon, CA.

A motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting at 8:24 pm. Check your controls prior to your first flight of the day.
