ALPINE AERO SQUADRON AUGUST 2006 NEWSLETTER

These are the minutes for the August 10, 2006, 2006 meeting. Our President Tom Clark brought the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the minutes of the July meeting as read at the August meeting. Eleven Club members were present at the August meeting. The Club now has 73 members.

Mark Miller reported that we have $4149.49 in the bank as August 10, 2006. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented.

Old Business:
The County is in the progress of resurfacing the Field & should be done by the 15th of August 2006. The old Tar on the runway has been removed & the club will roil the new resurface runway on the 17th of August 2006. The oil should take about a week to dry & the Field should be ready by the 2nd of September 2006. The field has been raised up by at least 2 feet & will be slightly higher at the end of the Field. We only have 4149.49 in the bank & and we need at least $4500.00 to have the Field oiled. If you can pay your dues early or give some money to the Club we could easily pay to have the runway oiled. The old Rugs are all gone. If someone knows about any Business or a Residents getting new Rugs we could use their old Rugs.

New Business:
Fun Fly at Alpine Aero Squadron will be held on the 16 of September 2006 (Saturday). Float Fly will be held at Otay Lake on the 19th of November (Sunday).

Joe Macias brought in seven single cylinder ignition Engines made by Judson Williams. Syncro B-30 .292 made in 1940. Rogers .29 made in 1946. Rogers .35 made in 1941. Buss .60 made 1948. Genie .29 made in 1947. Thor B .299 made in 1946. Buss B .299 made in 1948.

Note:
A raffle is held at each meeting and the raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00.
No raffle held at the August 10, meeting.

The next meeting of the Alpine Aero Squadron will be at 7:30 p.m. September 14, 2006, (2nd Thursday) at the Kennedy Recreation Center, 1675 Madison Avenue, El Cajon, CA.

A motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting 7:55 p.m. Check your Flight Controls prior to your first flight of the day.
