ALPINE AERO SQUADRON OCTOBER 2004 NEWSLETTER

These are the minutes for October 14, 2004 meeting. Our President Tom Clark brought the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the minutes of the September meeting as read at the October meeting. Twelve club members were present at the October meeting. The club now has 94 members.

Bob Middleton reported that we have $2485.58 in the bank as October 14, 2004. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented.

Old Business:
Dues are $40.00 for the whole year & are due by December 31st, 2004.

New Business:
The Float Fly will be November 21st, 2004 at Otay Lake. We need quite a few volunteers to help run the event & make sure everything is set up by 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning. The Club will be giving $300.00 in gift certificates & prizes. Pilots will be required to pay $10.00 to fly & will receive one free raffle ticket. Drinks, Coffee & Doughnuts will be provided.

Note: Treasurer Bob Middleton is moving to Dallas Texas some time this year, because all of his family & relatives live there. He is the Treasurer of the club & it would nice if some one would volunteer for the position. See Bob Middleton or Tom Clark for more information about this part time job. The Treasurer doesn’t have to pay club dues.

Joe Macias brought in 6 collectable ignition Engines for Airplanes.

A raffle is held at each meeting and the raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00. The following members won items at the raffle.

Dorman Baker - One Gallon of 15% Fuel & Smart Stripe Cutting Tool.
Wayne Bolin - 1 Large Tube of Ca Glue #2 Thick.
George Michael - 1 Large Tube of Ca Glue #1 Thin & 15 # 11 Xacto Blades.
Tom Clark - Ultra Stand & a 12 Volt Sealed Battery.
Greg Buiewski - 5 Xacto Saw Blades.
Joe Macias - Dead Center Engine Mount Hole Locator & 1 Xacto Knife.

The next meeting of the Alpine Aero Squadron will be at 7:30 p.m. November 10, 2004, at the Kennedy Recreation Center, 1675 Madison Avenue, El 8:05 Cajon, CA. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 p.m. Check your controls prior to your first flight of the day.
