ALPINE AERO SQUADRON OCTOBER 2008 NEWSLETTER

The meeting was canceled because some of the board members were not present at the October 9, 2008. Five Club Members were at the October meeting. No Raffle was held.

Old Business:
Dues will be $60.00 a year starting January 1, 2009. The By-Laws will have to be change to reflect the increase in the Clubs dues.

New Business:
Some of the Carpets at the Field are in pretty bad shape & if anyone is throwing some large pieces of Carpet or knows where we can get some large pieces of Carpet in good condition, the club would gladly accept the used Carpets. If the Outer Gate is open & no one seems to be around, close & lock the Gate. We need to elect new Board Member for the year 2009. The following members have been for Board Members for the year 2008, Tom Clark for President, Mark Miller for Treasurer, Bob Davis for Vice President, Regan Schutte for Secretary, Thomas Beecroft for Editor, Wayne Bolin for Safety Coordinator & Ignacio Barragan for Web Master. We need to elect new Board Members for the 2009 Year.

When anyone is flying at the Field, the inner Gate must be closed. The outer Gate will also be closed. The last person leaving the Field will lock both Gates. The speed limit going to & from the Field is 15-Miles Per Hour. No more Welding permitted at the Field. The Country has informed the Club that when it rains, the Field will be closed for five days after the rain stops.

The Club paid Carl Yandell $211.00 to oil the Pilots Stations.

We could have the meetings at the Field on the second Sunday of the Month starting next Year 2009. If anyone would like to lower the dues back to $40.00 a Year come to the Meeting & Vote. If anyone would like to be a Board member come to the next meeting & request what position you would like to fill for the year 2009.

The Float Fly at Otay Lake will be held on November 15 & 16 2008 (Saturday & Sunday). The Chula Vista Club will host the Float Fly this year. Registration opens at 8am. A $20.00 Flying Fee – No Parking Fees. Raffle at 12pm.

The next meeting of the Alpine Aero Squadron will be at 7:30 p.m. November 13, 2008, (2nd Thursday) at the Kennedy Recreation Center, 1675 Madison Avenue, El Cajon, CA.
