These are the minutes for the December 13, 2007 meeting. Our President Tom Clark brought the meeting to order at 7:38 p.m. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the minutes of the November meeting as read at the December meeting. Nine Club members were present at the December meeting. The Club now has 86 members.
Mark Miller reported that we have $2477.33 in the bank as December 13, 2007. A motion was made, seconded, and approved to accept the Treasurers report as presented.
Old Business: Dues are due by December 31, 2007. The Dues are $40.00 for the whole year. Mark Miller is the Treasurer & he can be reached at the Thursday Night meeting or at the Field on Weekends. The following members have been nominated for Board Members for the year 2008, Tom Clark for President, Mark Miller for Treasurer, Bob Davis for Vice President, Regan Schutte for Secretary, Thomas Beecroft for Editor, Wayne Bolin for Safety Coordinator & Ignacio Barragan for Web Master, for the year 2008.
New Business: The January meeting of the Alpine Aero Squadron will be held on schedule Thursday, January 10 at 7:30 PM Kennedy Center in the small classroom next to the usual larger room. Tom Clark
Note: Wayne Bolin brought in a Helicopter ready to fly out of the box to the meeting. No Tail Rotor has two set of counter rotating Rotor Blades that are turned by two electric Motors. Cost of the Helicopter is $160.00. Wayne flew the Helicopter in the large room where we have our meetings.
Andy Woerner brought in a F16 Turbo Jet Model to the meeting. The Plane with the Engine cost about $7000.00. The Model weighs 22 pounds. The F16 has Brakes, a Starter to start the Engine, a Fuel Pump that puts out 255 pounds of pressure. The Starter turns the engine up to 33,000 RPMS then Butane lights the engine off & when the Engine gets up to speed a mixture of oil & Jet Fuel keeps the Engine Running, The Model has retractable landing Gear. The Engine puts out 9 Pounds of trust. The Fuel is ignited by a 2 cycle Glow Plug. The Model is capable of speeds up to 275 MPH. The Elevators act as Ailerons & Elevators to move the Model Plane in the right direction, Needs a runway of at least 750 feet to take off. There are no controls on the Wings.
Note: A raffle is held at each meeting and the raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00. The winners are Tom Seevers=One Gallon of 15% Synthetic Castor Fuel. Mark Miller=Exhaust Deflector. Regan Shuttle=Remote Glow Plug Connector. Andy Woerner=Hook & Loop Mounting Material. Wayne Bolin=6 Long Needle Nose Pliers. Tom Clark=Reamer & Scissor.
